Backbending Workshop


Do you find the back bends frightening, difficult or even cause you pain? Then, this is the workshop for you to learn how to unlock your spine safely. No matter what we think, back bends can be very therapeutic. We spend 90% of our lifetime standing, sitting, or sleeping, in which the spine is bent. This common position of the spine press slowly the intervertebral discs, having as a result, in many cases, disc herniation.

Back bends reverse this process, creating space an d flexibility between the vertebrae and muscles allowing intervertebral discs to return to their original position.

In this three-hour workshop, we will focus on deepening your flexibility and opening the space behind your heart, how to move the bending of the lower spine in the upper and thoracic spine, relieving the compression and the pressure in the lumbar.

In this workshop we will work through four themes which will not only increase but will build flexibility and strength for healthy and safe back bends.

The seminar will focus on the following topics:

* Shoulders and upper back. (thoracic spine) * Hip flexors and quadriceps. * Building strength on lumbar. * Application of technical flexibility for opening and release in different postures of back bends.

The goal of this workshop is to learn and improve your flexibility in a secure way to transfer the exercises and methods in your own practice. Flexible body, flexible mind. All levels are welcome!

Day: Saturday, March 30th 13:00 to 15:00

Place: Hatha Yoga & Pilates Studio Patras (Leykosias & Kyrenias 16, 26441 Pelican Patras)

Price: 25 € to 20 March, then 30 € late bird .
